Trenton had his first radiation treatment today. He did remarkably well – the procedure lasted about 45 minutes from start of anesthesia to recovery. He was a little more “loopy” today when he woke up, but he ate alot of crackers anyway – this is GOOD!!!

We were able to view the MRI pictures of the tumor today and we will probably be posting a picture soon so you can see.

After Trent’s nap, he woke up nauseated. He became very sick and we had to give him a couple doses of Zofran (anti-nausea med). Finally, he became our Trenton again (energy and all)!! He is now eating toast and hot cereal – YEAH!!!

I had given Trenton Bactrim (antibiotic to prevent pnemonia) with his lunch, and we do not know if the Radiation or the Bactim caused his sickness today. Dr. Rubin (Oncologist) told us to hold off on the Bactrim for a few weeks until Trent adjusts to the Radiation and Chemo. Also, we are to give Trent a dose of the Zofran before we leave in the morning to prevent sickness from the anesthesia.

We are still going to go ahead with the Temodar (Chemo) tonight. Hopefully, he will swallow the pills for us – if not we will have to break them open and give him an applesauce cocktail.
