I know it has been a few days…but everything is going well. Trent’s radiation treatment on Tuesday was alittle hairy because he did not want to do his treatment without me in the room. No one is allowed to stay in the room because of the radiation levels – I can talk to him over an intercom only. He was scared, and anesthesia had left – but with Grandpa Richards coaxing he finally did it!! He was fine the remainder of the day (ate well and had a good nap).

Trent was put back under anesthesia on Wednesday. The radiation team had to do their weekly pictures to make sure he was lined up properly. The team has been so great with Trenton – they are always up-beat and friendly. The nurse, Sue, is fantastic also – making sure Trent has anything he needs and answers all of our questions.

We saw Dr. Greenwald (Wednesday) about Trent’s right eye (it has been blood shot in the outer corner for a couple days). He said to wait a few more days – that it could only be an irritation – no drops needed. Also, because Trent will not wear the prism on his glasses (the prism was needed to try to strengthen his right eye), I will have to patch his left eye for 1-2 hours daily. He is using his left eye primarily now, and we want him to use both eyes together. Until his 6 week treatments are done (surgery may be needed at this time to bring the right eye back toward the center), we have to try to strengthen the right eye.

Dr. Rubin examined Trent also (Wednesday) and he says Trent is doing very good. He did not notice any signs of decreased ability due to the treatments. We had his weekly blood test done and everything came back good – WBC 3.4 (this is low, but is due to the chemo), and platelets were at 282 which is good.

Trent had a good radiation session today – under anesthesia. I will wait again for him to request to stay awake – I want him to make this choice. He had a good breakfast, and will (hopefully) take a nap… :-)
