August 31st, 2005Trent is still running a fever that fluctuates between 99.4 and 102 degrees. He also has a rash on his chest - doctor says it is an allergic reaction. So I have given Trent some Benadryl and applied Calamine lotion to relieve his itching. I will be calling Nurse Kelly today to find out if I need to bring him in to U of C. His blood cultures came back negative for a bacterial infection, which is good. So this virus must run its course - at first I thought he had chicken pox, but the bumps on his chest have not spread. They are just in one area - by his portal. Trent is still eating (although like a bird) and still drinking. He has energy and is not lethargic, just alittle tired. Let’s hope this infection clears up soon!!! I will keep you updated…
