Alittle tired today…

October 27th, 2005

Trent has been feeling tired the last couple of days…I can tell that the Temodar is working on him right now. His appetite is OK - it could be better - but it is to be expected. This seems like such a rollar-coaster ride…one week great, the next who knows???

There are other children we have found that are fighting this tumor also. We added links to Cameron’s and Justis’s web sites at the side. Also, another young boy named Robbie Black (13) has been doing very well on the Temodar protocol since September 2004. I have kept in contact with his mom, Joyce, and she says that Robbie looks better than ever (Go, Robbie, Go)!! A beautiful little girl named Meagan who was receiving treatment for this tumor at the same time as Trenton is doing very well also!!! Another strong boy named Jacob Anderson has been fighting a brain tumor and he has been doing very well, too!!! Let us pray for all of these children and so many others that are affected by brain tumors!!!

Ariana has been doing very good now that she is over her strep throat. She only has half days of school due to teacher conferences at Timothy Ball Elementary. Her teacher, Mrs. Walker, tells me that Ariana is one of the straight A students in class and that she is doing an excellent job in every subject!! We are so proud of the way she has been able to keep up with her school work and extra-curricular practices!!!

Thank you so much for your comments - they really help us get through the days and weeks. We know that there are probably many visitors that come to the site to see how Trent is doing - please sign in for us…It reminds us that there are so many out there who love and care about us!!!

Please pray for the Daly and Griner families - little Kenny Daly and Calvin Griner received their angel wings this month. Also, please pray for the James Family - little Leah recieved her wings in August (please visit the link to her page). Our hearts grieve so much with these families…

Trenton is doing GREAT!!

October 24th, 2005

We have had a wonderful couple of weeks with Trenton!! He has made it through his third round of chemo without getting a fever - just a loss in appetite and alittle tired (GREAT!!). He had been so good these last two weeks - eating well (he gained 2 pounds) and also having lots of energy. Today he told me that he wanted to be a runner when he grows up. He wanted me to take him to a track so he could run around it, but the rain and cold prevented us from going. His color looks good and he is actually the best he has been since he started his treatment in June.

Ariana, on the other hand, just finished getting over strep throat. Our poor little girl missed 2 days of school - but she did complete all of her homework with mom’s help. After four days of rest, she was able to attend her first gymnastics meet in Lafayette, IN. She tied for first place on the balance beam, and came in 3rd place in the all-around!!! We are so proud of her!! Ariana did fantastic for being her first gymnastics meet!!! She is now back to school and feeling much better.

Clint and I have been OK. Just going about our daily chores: closing the pool, cleaning windows, and other fun stuff. Trent will be the Red Power Ranger and Ariana will be a Nice Witch for Halloween this year. We will be trick-or-treating at Grandma and Grandpa Richards house (hopefully it will not be raining or too cold).

We heard a very inspiring sermon this past Sunday given by our Associate Pastor, Doug Gamble. We learned that we need to be content through HIM in all situations. Our anxiety and worry can be released to GOD - lifting up Trent’s medical needs to HIM. So I end with this wonderful Bible verse that touched us:

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7
