Trent’s Trek

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are back from Disney - - and we had a GREAT time!! I believe his best day physically was Friday at Universal…but we did have lots of fun the other days, too!!

The Sunday before we left, we had to increase Trenton’s dose of Decadron to 4mg because his symptoms were coming back. On Monday, he was tired and the 4mg seemed to hit him hard - really making him tired.

We brought him down to 3mg starting this past Friday…and he will stay on 3mg until Dr. Rubin puts us on a weaning schedule. He has changed so much since the beginning of the year…it has been hard to watch. He is irritable and always hungry from the steroids…he walks unsteady…and his speech is sometime hard to understand.

I will write more about our trip…and we will have pictures posted by the end of the week. Trenton’s MRI is on February 2nd…this coming Thursday.

Trenton has been doing quite well on the Decadron - he gets 2mg 3 times daily. He is walking better (he still has some problems with his left leg), and he is not drooling anymore. His speech is still not quite what it was before the New Year…but we will take the progress he has had this far!! We are relieved that he will be able to enjoy his trip this coming week!!

Monday - we will head out with a limo pick-up from the house to the airport…we will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - with a Savannah View of the animals!!!

Tuesday - it is off to Sea World to see Shamu and the gang….the Make A Wish Foundation has some surprises for Trenton while we are there….maybe see Shamu up close????

Wednesday & Thursday - we have hopper passes for the Disney parks…we will probably spend most of our time at Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios!!!

Friday - Universal Studios is the plan for today…

Saturday - its time to go home….we should be back by 5pm.

We will be having many family members and neighbors watching the house and the dogs while we are gone…thank you to everyone who volunteered!!

Our next update will be after the trip…and we will have goo gobs of photos for you to look at…..
