[thumb:393:l]We spent New Years Eve at Uncle Mark and Aunt Sue’s house. All of the cousins (Trenton, Jarett, Ariana, Savannah, and Caden) played until they were all very tired!! Only a few little disagreements from them, but the adults were able to play a few games (Greedy, Phase 10, and Texas Hold’em). There was lots of great food and laughter!!! Every time Trenton came into the kitchen, Grandma Richards would plant kisses on his cheeks and the back of his neck…then he would run off again to see what Jarett and Caden were up to. Savannah and Ariana decided to put on a small performance with the neon necklaces they received from Aunt Cheryl – they pretty much did there own “big girl stuff”. My-my, time is sure flying by…it seems like yesterday the girls were just babies.
We decided to leave around 11pm because Trenton was getting really tired by this time. Theresa, Bob, Savannah, and Caden came home with us – and we got all the kids ready for bed just in time to count down 2005. Of course, just as 2006 came in I got Theresa, Ariana, Savannah, and Caden to run with me out the back door – around the house – and back into the front door (Out with the old – bring in the new). We were yelling all the way “Happy New Year!!” and some of our neighbors were outside also to yell it back to us. Trenton was really ready for bed by this time and we gathered up the cousins to go to upstairs. They all fell asleep so fast!! Theresa and I stayed up talking – Clint and Bob watched a movie…we finally went to bed around 2am.
The next day Grandma and Grandpa Anderson picked up Trenton and Ariana to go tobogganing in Michigan for a couple of days. They came back today and said that the sledding was fast and fun!! Tomorrow school begins again for both of them.
Trenton receives cards and gifts from “Chemo-Angels” every week. We would like to thank them SO MUCH – Lisa, Sue, and Donna!! They have brightened up Trenton’s and Ariana’s faces on so many occassions. Trenton always asks if there is a letter or package for him – he loves opening them!!
Trenton has been doing very well these last 2 weeks – eating good and lots of energy. Being a mother though, I worry about some things that I have noticed – changes in his speech (more slurring than usual), and emotional changes (he gets very angry for minute things lately). I wonder if these have something to do with his tumor – his next MRI is February 2nd – very soon.
Please pray for little Justis – he has not been doing well (we have a link to his website below). Sonya (Justis’s mom) writes about her feelings – I can understand them so well even though Trenton is not at that point. My heart hurts – a pain that cannot be explained – Sonya is right – our children are on loan from God….I cherish every moment I spend with mine now – more that ever before!!
