Quick Update…
Today started out rather differently…Trenton woke up at 430am this morning and told me that “Tyler’s back” as he pointed to the ceiling (Tyler was our Chow-Chow that we had to put to sleep earlier this year). As the morning went on, he apparently saw a girl with candy and then was heard telling someone “No” and “Go away” in the frontroom. During his morning nap, Trenton could not get any sleep for two reasons: 1) his breathing has become more labored, and 2) he kept having a conversation with someone I could not see (shaking his head yes or no, asking “What?”, pointing at the wall, and reaching out to grab or touch something, etc). I believe it is an Angel…because Trenton is not afraid at all when he is seeing and talking to it. In fact, he chuckles, smiles, and sighs with such complete joy and peace. Although my heart is hurting to see him do this - at the same time I am at peace and happy that whatever he is seeing makes him happy and comfortable.
We decided to give him a small dose of morphine to help his breathing. We will know more later tonight if it is working. He is still eating light foods…those easy to chew and digest. After our appointment yesterday, I believe we are leaning toward pallative care only…we will keep you updated with what we finally decide.
Please pray for Trenton to breathe easier and be comfortable…
